Core Projects are funded by the fees from Industrial partners and aligned with the Innovandi Research Roadmap. Projects are typically carried out by 4 to 6 academic partners and last 4 years.
10 of these “cluster” Core Projects are underway with partners from different global regions working together. Each Core Project is guided by up to 3 Industrial Mentors. All partners can follow the progress of the projects.
In total 30 PhDs involved in the 12 core projects and cover the following topics
- Artificial intelligence-driven optimisation of cement manufacturing
- Linking physico‐chemical properties of calcined clay to performance of LC3 (3 Core Projects)
- The effect of cooling rates on the properties of Portland cement clinker in the presence of minor components (Mg, S, Na, Zn, F, P)
- Production and usage of carbonated and uncarbonated recycled concrete fines (RCfines)
- LCCA/LCA for the comparison of different methods of recycling concrete
- Meta-analysis on the Use of Electric Energy for Cement Production
- Carbonation and corrosion
- Carbonated microstructure via CO2 utilisation
