The development of limestone calcined clay cement (LC3) represents a saving of around 40% in CO₂ emissions compared with the traditional ordinary Portland cement based mainly on clinker. This event will explore what is needed to facilitate the uptake of LC3 cement.

There is near-unanimous agreement that public funds alone will not be enough to curb the challenges of climate change. The investor community and financial institutions are coming forward to reiterate their commitments to low carbon economies along with their requirements for an enabling policy environment and disclosures that accelerates and scales up private finance flows. It will also highlight how the GCCA’s Global Roadmap is being tailored to local conditions through the Net Zero Accelerator initiative – including a key update on Egypt.
