Innovation is a key part of the cement and concrete industry’s net zero transition. The GCCRN Postdoc Scholarship funds research proposals which accelerate reaching our goal of net zero cement and concrete.
The call is open to applicants from within and/or outside of the GCCRN Network, and for those who defended their PhDs between 2020 and 2026. Applicants must be less than 40 years old.
The host for the research project must be an institute that is part our GCCRN Academic membership. The budget covers salary, host university overhead costs and reasonable research expenses. Budget submittals will be evaluated taking into consideration all elements of the application (novelty, relevance of topic to industry challenges, etc.).
The submission deadline is 15 August 2026, and the selected proposals will be announced in November 2026.
You do not need to be a GCCA member or have a GCCA account to apply.
The criteria for evaluation are as follows:
- Fundamental research on cementitious materials and their use in alignment with the GCCA research roadmap
- High scientific quality
- Novelty
Please include the following files in your application:
- Application form including the research proposal
- Upload a 5-minute video explaining the research proposal (YouTube or similar platform.)
