CO2 as admixture that improves strength and thermal properties.
The team behind iConcrete Tech is commercialising the research they are performing at the University of Alabama during their PhD program. The company has yet to officially form, and has received funding from an NSF Grant. It’s technology is an admixture that directly bubbles CO2 into calcium-rich mixing water. This improves the strength of the concrete, as well as the thermal performance of it to lower the footprint of buildings.
