Patented CO2-embedded substitute for cement
Through a patented, low-energy catalytic mechanical exfoliation process, Carbon Upcycling Technologies chemically activates abundantly available solid powders to sequester CO2 emissions and produce a range of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) to create low-carbon concrete. It has a pathway to reduce concrete-associated emissions by over 600 MM tonnes by 2030. Its CO2-embedded cementitious materials have been shown to improve concrete strength by over 40%, reduce cement use by up to 25%, and improve concrete durability by up to 45%.
