Innovation is a key part of the cement and concrete industry’s net zero transition. The GCCRN Postdoc Scholarship call funds research proposals to accelerate reaching our goal towards net zero cement and concrete.
The call is open to the applicants from (within) and/or outside of GCCRN Network, and for those who defended their PhDs between 2020 and 2025. Applicants must be less than 40 years old.
The host for the research project must be an institute that is part our GCCRN Academic membership. The budget covers salary, host university overhead costs and reasonable research expenses. Budgets submittals will be evaluated taking into consideration all elements of the application (novelty, relevance of topic to industry challenges, etc.).
The submission deadline is the end of June 2025, and the select proposals will be announce in December 2025.
The criteria for evaluation are as follows:
- Fundamental research on cementitious materials and their use in alignment with GCCA research roadmap
- High scientific quality
- Novelty
Please include the following files in your application:
- Application form including the research proposal
- A link to a 5-minute video explaining the research proposal (YouTube or similar platform.)
- CV of the applicant
- Recommendation letter from the thesis supervisor
- At least one, and up to three, recommendations from academics outside the applicant’s institution
- Recommendation letter from the host university
