GCCA Cement CO2 and Energy Protocol Transition Training Overview

The CO2 Protocol underpins all GCCA GNR reporting. Over the last two years an expert group has revised and updated the Protocol to make some fundamental changes to current reporting and to include new developments in reporting of CCUS, calcined clay and recarbonation.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. The cut-off day to pay and register for this course is 31st July 2026. or earlier if all places are filled.

Location: – European Cement Research Academy (ECRA) (Germany-Dusseldorf)

If you cannot attend in Germany there is a possibility of a training course in early 2027 in LATAM (Mexico). Please register here your expression of interest of attending a course in Mexico. Course will proceed subject to numbers and costs will be higher to cover all associated trainining costs.

Why attend?

The changes are extensive and it’s vital that all members receive training on the new version to ensure accuracy of reporting going forwards. The training will enable members to:

• Gain in-depth knowledge from industry-leading trainers on V4.2 of the GCCA Cement CO2 and Energy Protocol.

• Master the calculation of Scope 1 and 2 emissions according to the updated protocol.

• Develop practical skills through interactive tutorials.

• Earn a valuable training certificate upon successful completion of the program.

This intensive 3-day on-site training, offered in collaboration with our trusted partner European Cement Research Academy (ECRA), provides a comprehensive understanding of the updated protocol and its practical application. The course is a train the trainer model, where one or two company representatives are trained directly by ECRA and they then receive all the material to train others within their company.

Delegate Fee €3,500 per person

To cover the cost of the course, there is a delegate fee. Please note that this fee does not include accomodation, travel, and other external expenses.
