Core Project 1: Artificial Intelligence for accelerating cement production
Background
I received my B.Tech in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, with a gold medal in 2021.
The same year, I joined M3RG at (Indian Institute of Technology) IIT Delhi for a PhD under supervision of Prof. Anoop Krishnan.
Research topic
My PhD research focuses on developing machine learning based digital-twin for cement production. We apply advanced data-driven techniques on large-scale data collected from operational cement plants to replicate plant operations in a virtual environment with state-of-the-art precision.
The digital twin can enhance real-time monitoring, forecast emissions ahead of time, and optimize process parameters to improve fuel consumption of the plant.
The ultimate goal of the developed models is to provide a robust decision-support system that will facilitate operational improvements, and help accelerate the transition to a smarter, low-carbon cement industry.
