Concrete Infrastructure
Description:
Owen Davies Location: Arizona, USA My image is of the Carl Hayden Visitor Center overlooking the Glenn Canyon Dam in Arizona, USA. I was drawn to the scene initially for the awe-inspiring vista but I also think it speaks to the versatility of concrete and humankind’s desire to alter the natural landscape. I wanted to illustrate the seemingly fragile nature of the visitor center perched atop the cliffside in contrast to the monolithic scale of the dam holding back the forces of the Colorado River.
