Reginald de Guia @reginalddeguia Location: Mambajao, Maasin City, Philippines This locale once boasted a sandy beach, providing a serene haven for locals to revel in the beauty of the sea. However, the tranquility was often disrupted by typhoons and the relentless onslaught of seawater during the southwest monsoon seasons, leading to flooding in the shoreline residences. In response to these challenges, a coastal road is currently under construction, with strategically placed tetrapods serving as crucial guardians to shield both the road and the adjacent community from powerful waves. Captured during the tumultuous southwest monsoon season, the dynamic scene of colossal waves crashing against the tetrapods seized my attention. Inspired by the spectacle, I embarked on a photographic endeavor, experimenting with long exposure and slow shutter techniques to encapsulate the raw energy and resilience witnessed in this coastal transformation. The result is a striking long exposure shot.
