Urban Concrete
Description:
Mason Miller @millerttime Location: Berlin, Germany I took this photo in Berlin, Germany during a skateboarding tour that I was on in 2022. On our last day in the city, we went to this DIY skatepark in the outskirts of town before our flights out. After arriving, this loop (in the photo) immediately caught my eye because of its one of a kind look, and I knew I wanted to shoot something unique on it. Thankfully, my friend LeAndre (the skater featured in the photo) is really good at transition skateboarding, and he took to it without hesitation. A few tries later, we walked away with this photo! Concrete plays a vital role in the making of this photo. Concrete is the life force of skateboarding, and without it, we wouldn't be able to do what it is that we love. DIY skateparks are an extra special representation of the beauty of concrete, because it shows how concrete can be crafted in so many different ways for a number of uses that no one would ever think of. This loop is the perfect example of this, given its abstract design and ability to create a new form of expression for skateboarders.
