Title:
Concrete Iceberg, curved and sharp
Description:
Alexander Arregui Leszczynska Location: Brixen-Bresanona, South Tyrol, Italy When visiting a new building, I really like to go for a walk around it. This one had surprises in every corner! It felt as if the concrete was carved to these special shapes, a monolith that has been emptied and given a use. The TreeHugger is a project that does a lot with a little: the small concrete pavilion re-fashions the entry into the historical city centre, and represents the city of Brixen with a new public space forged by the union of contemporary architecture and ancient, existing tree. The project brings tradition, heritage and contemporary culture onto one pivotal site.
